English Language Requirements
International applicants must be able to understand and communicate in English to gain admission to the University of New England.
If English is not your native language, you will need to submit documentation that indicates your level of English proficiency.
Undergraduate Requirements and Methods
UNE undergraduate admissions accepts several methods of English proficiency. You will meet the minimum standards for English proficiency at UNE by demonstrating one of the below.

Graduate Requirements and Methods
UNE graduate programs only accept the TOEFL and IELTS English proficiency exams.
测试 of English as a Foreign Language
The minimum TOEFL score required for graduate admissions is 79 for the internet-based test.
The Educational 测试ing Service (ETS) will report scores no more than 2 years after the test date.
Arrangements for taking the TOEFL may be made through the nearest United States Embassy or the ETS. Consult the TOEFL website for further information.
International English Language 测试ing System
The minimum IELTS exam score required for graduate admissions is an Overall Band 分数 of 6 or higher.
Arrangements for taking the International English Language 测试ing System (IELTS) Academic Training exam may be made through the 雅思考试网站.

Refer to the admissions requirements of your graduate program of interest for specific information and additional details.

- If you have attended a regionally accredited U.S. 高中或大学.S. Department of Defense school overseas for at least three years, or have received an associate, 学士, 硕士, or doctoral degree from a regionally accredited U.S. college or university, you will meet English proficiency requirements.
- UNE also waives the English proficiency requirement if you graduated from a regionally accredited school in other English-speaking countries: Anguilla, 安提瓜岛和巴布达, 澳大利亚, 巴哈马群岛, 巴巴多斯, 伯利兹, 百慕大, 英国圭亚那, 加拿大(魁北克除外), 开曼群岛, 多米尼加, 福克兰群岛, 斐济, 格林纳达, 关岛, 圭亚那, 爱尔兰, Jamaica/other West Indies, 利比里亚, 蒙特塞拉特, 新西兰, 南非, St. 海伦娜,圣. 圣基茨和尼维斯. 卢西亚,圣. Vincent, Trinidad and Tobago, Turks and Caico Isle, United Kingdom, the Virgin Islands, and others.
- 考试及格分数 United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) 与 Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) Certification (with submission of photocopy of ECFMG certification to UNE Office of 研究生招生 and Recruitment).
